Missing Lottery Crorepati Found

Missing Lottery Crorepati Found December 28th 2019 12:29

The son of a poor farmer had some amazing fortune after winning Rs 1 crore on a bumper lottery. However, Asim Samaddar immediately vanished after his win, fearing that he would be abducted because of his newfound wealth. His family reported his disappearance and Habibpur police soon quizzed all the local lottery vendors but had no luck in finding the newly-made crorepati.

After a lead from a ticket sub-agent brought forwards a phone number from a member of the public asking about winning lottery numbers, the police traced Asim’s phone number to a location in a remote sector of the local area, where they then located the lucky winner. Asim explained: “I went to a newspaper stall to check whether the number of my lottery ticket matched with the series of prize winners. I could not believe my luck. I contacted the person from whom I had purchased it. He, too, confirmed the number.’’

Asim had then left a note for his parents explaining his fears about becoming a crorepati shortly before he vanished. He was worried that the ruling Trinamool leaders and local gangs would target him over his new riches after recent civil unrests in the area. He has been found safe and well now.

Lottery Presenter Resigns On TV… By Accident!

In Spain, a lottery presenter thought she had won the Spanish El Gordo (The Fat One) Lottery on Sunday 22nd December, and promptly resigned live on-air! Natalia Escudero, a reporter for RTVE, told viewers that she would “not be coming to work tomorrow” in a state of excitement when she believed she had won one of the main jackpot prizes. Unfortunately for Escudero, she had not won one of the major cash prizes of €4 million, but a rather smaller prize of around Rs 3.96 lakh. She apologised via Twitter on December 22nd, stating that she had experienced a “difficult time for personal reasons.”  Full Loteria de Navidad results here.
