How to Play Dhanalekshmi Lottery
Joining the Dhanalekshmi Lottery is straightforward. Buy a ticket that contains a randomly generated code. The code starts with two letters – the first always being 'D' – and is followed by six digits from 0 to 9.
The weekly draw happens every Wednesday at 3:00 pm at Gorky Bhavan, near Bakery Junction in Thiruvananthapuram, with Kerala Lottery officials overseeing the event.
Hold on to your ticket and the sales receipt, as both are necessary when claiming any prize.
To participate, you must be at least 18 years old. Non-residents of Kerala are also welcome to play.

The Dhanalekshmi Lottery’s grand prize is ₹1 Crore, with eight additional prize tiers available. If you match all six digits of the first prize number but your ticket belongs to a different series (meaning the second letter is not the same), you’ll receive a ₹5,000 consolation prize.

Keep your ticket and the receipt in a secure place, since both are essential for claiming prizes. To safeguard your claim, fill in the necessary information on your ticket promptly.
Dhanalekshmi Lottery winners have 30 days from the draw date to collect their prizes. Make a habit of checking your ticket numbers regularly to avoid missing out.
Prize claims are easy, though the process changes depending on the amount won. Up to ₹500 can be redeemed at a lottery agent. For ₹500–₹1,000, you’ll need to go to a District Lottery Office or the Directorate of State Lotteries. First and second prize winners, as well as players from outside Kerala, must claim their winnings directly at the Directorate.
In India, lottery winnings are considered income and are subject to a 30% tax.
